| Melanie made her racing debut in 2002, contesting 10 rounds of the Alfa Romeo Championship in an Alfasud. She also took the car to France, finishing 6th on her overseas race debut. Melanie raced in the SEAT Cupra Championship in 2003 and was the only female driver to finish all 12 races. Out of 17 entries her best result was a superb 8th at Rockingham (in front of a circuit record crowd of 44,000). After a fantastic season, Melanie richly deserved to win the ‘Mintex Most Improved Driver of the Year Award’. A keen Crystal Palace FC fan and devout "shopaholic", Melanie has successfully gained a HND in Motorsports Engineering from Brooklands College. Free from her studies, she can now concentrate on racing and a career in motorsport. Melanie is sponsored by Spur Garage, Radio Jackie and Secure Valeting. |
