| Simon started in motocross at the age of nine
and has spent most of his motorsport career on two wheels.
The qualified fitness instructor competed in motocross from
1989-‘94, before enjoying two years racing karts and
a few Formula Ford races in 1997. In 2001 he moved up to
the highly competitive Superclub 600 Supersport series on
a Yamaha R6 - winning a round of the series at Mallory Park
the following year. He raced a Yamaha R1 in the 2003 Powerbike
series, but switched to cars halfway through the season
when he decided to contest the 2004 SEAT Cupra Championship
– and contested selected rounds of the Formula Ford
Championship to gain his National A race licence. Simon
is sponsored by Auto Trader, TSR Performance, Grand Prix
