Gordon stunned the BTCC in 2001 by qualifying on pole for both races on his series debut at Knockhill and finishing 2nd in the Sprint Race and 1st in the main Feature Race. A former Scottish Young Driver of the Year and a founder member of the BRDC 'Rising Stars' category, Gordon sprang to fame in 2000 when he dominated the Fiesta Championship with 9 wins and 9 poles. He was fastest at the end of season Champions 'shoot-out' in a BTCC Mondeo at Pembrey and the Fiesta success brought an invitation from Ford Holland to race in the Dutch Touring Car Championship, giving him valuable international racing experience. He also raced in the Macau Touring Car race in a Focus. In 2003, Gordon was never lower than 3rd in the SEAT Cupra Championship points table, eventually finishing runner-up in the series after recording one race win (at Oulton Park), 2 seconds and 3 third places. Gordon is sponsored by Scottish Sun, Tracker, The Stewart Milne Group, M20 Music and Sam’s Night Club.
