Round 5: Brands Hatch
Tom Ferrier made a fantastic start and led Round 5 of the Smartnav SEAT Cupra Championship from start to finish at Brands Hatch in his Team Parker Racing Leon Cupra R.
He cruised to victory, leaving in his wake a magnificent battle for second place, which halfway through the 20 lap encounter included seven cars. Carl Breeze eventually finished 2nd in his Blue Chip Group/Barwell Motorsport Leon Cupra R after overtaking Tom Boardman (Special Tuning UK / Triple R Leon Cupra R) at the start of lap 6. Tom had a tough battle to secure 3rd place after an exciting race with Henry Taylor (Mortgage Strategy magazine/Total Control Racing Leon Cupra R) and Mark Cole (Bovis Lend Lease/Team Parker Racing Leon Cupra R).
Mat Jackson (Whale Tankers/Jackson Motorsport Leon Cupra R) dropped back towards the closing stages to finish 6th, while Alan Blencowe came from the back of the grid to finish 7th in his Blue Diamond / Barwell Motorsport Leon Cupra R, after a close battle with Ian Churchill and Dave Pinkney.
Jonathan Young was going well until he spun his SRE Motorsport Leon Cupra R on lap 9.
